Jackie Shroff is a self-made entrepreneur. He attended the opening of the environment Jaldhaara Foundation and has been an active supporter of many causes such as HIV/AIDS awareness and the abolishment of female foeticide.

He was also instrumental in funding the treatment and education of underprivileged children, and on 5 March 2021, donated an ambulance to a Lonavala-based animal shelter in memory of his late pet dog Rocky.
